Good Bye my friend, SL STARFLEET

It's a sad day, the place I called home, and have been a member of for years will close it's doors soon.  While a few of us tried to save it, things beyond our CinC's control has forced this great group to close its sim.  This was one of the longest running trek groups in SL.

Looking back, I can honestly say I had fun, other times though, I was close to resigning(quitting).  There were many things that could of been done, and many things that should of been done, but because time fly's when your having fun.  I can say that I am not surprised, or shocked that this came about, in fact many of us had expected this for quite some time.  Because of time and the number of days, the few that were active just couldn't manage to try and fix the problem.  The groups activity did play a role in this, but we did have activity.  It was random "spurts" of activity, but it still counted.  

My personal opinions:

Many just did not want to come to the sim, to them, the groups time had already came and gone....  I won't name any names here, that's not how I am.  I honestly can't understand why many did not want to try, or just that they couldn't be here for this or that reason, but yet, many still seemed to get online for periods of time, and didn't even bother coming to the sim.  If we would of had more involvement from other members of the group, we could of possibly saved the sim in time.   But sadly, nobody else wanted to lift a finger.

  

To those who were trying, 

I want to THANK YOU for all your hard work, we failed yes, but at least we know we tried!  

Because without us few who had been there busting our humps for this long, running our divisions, empty or not, we were still there, and we were still doing our jobs.

Fact is, alot of ideas were given, and opinions too, but none of these ideas seen the light.  They were all good ideas, and many of them could of worked, but the time wasn't there, well it was, but getting some of these ideas moving would of consumed time...   Another fact is, many other members of this group literally caused the whole group to fucking flat line because of stupid bullshit and other fucked up events.    At times, I've wanted to open my mouth and tell em' to fuck off, or where to shove it.  But I'm just too damn nice I guess.
